Travel Diary: Capetown, South Africa 2006
"It was during my stay in Capetown, that I fell in love with this bird. Found throughout all of Africa, they would accompany me throughout my travels. The helmeted guinea fowl are one of the most common of the species andI just adore their spotted plumage. Wonderfully dark grey with speckled spots and unmistakable blue bald faces and red wattles. Favouring open countryside the birds thrive forging the shrubby African savannahs. I think this repeat print on silk works wonderfully in the subtle tones of blue, green, brown and wine. "
