Quince Red Silk Scarf

Quince Red Silk Scarf

Travel Diary:  Kyoto, Japan. 3 May 2006

"It is always late winter or early spring, I see this delicate ornamental orange red flower appear. It reminds me when I took a photo, standing in an old farmyard in Kyoto, Japan. We had been hiking all day and were invited in as guests to join a local family for some tea. I was excited to experience this cultural activity, the ceremonial preparation and its presentation. It was as much a performance as I had imagined. We bid their hospitality farewell, but as I was leaving I managed to take a photo of their beautiful flowering Quince bush that was in their garden."

Made in the Cotswolds in England. 100%silk satin with rolled hems
